Cross Country wins second at Disney

The cross country team competed in the Disney Cross Country Classic at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex on Oct. 11.

“I am really happy for our seventh and eighth grade boys and extremely proud of their efforts in the 3200 meter race against eight other middle school teams and some of the top individual middle school runners in the state,” Coach Greg Hayes said. “What’s really impressive is just about everyone ran a personal best two‐mile time.”

The team finished second overall in the 3200 meter (two mile) race with eight runners setting new personal bests. Hayes felt his players enjoyed the experience.

“I think it’s a toss‐up regarding what our runners enjoyed most about this day: getting out of school early or winning second place,” Hayes said.
