Cross-country heads to Titusville
On Saturday, the cross-country team will be running at the Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville.
This will be the team’s first official district race of the season starting with the spots being filled on varsity and junior varsity.
“I always look forward to this event every year because everyone PRs,” senior Marco Pascual said.
With the boys placing ninth overall out of 17 teams, they are optimistic that they will be well prepared.
“This whole week at practice we’ve been focusing on strides, this will help us improve our time towards the end of the race,” senior Ryan Bellone said.
The varsity girls’ time and rank may be hindered due to captain Lexi Khrebiel’s injured ankle, which will cause her to miss the meet.
“I’m really disappointed that I won’t be able to be out on the field running with my fellow wildcats,” the senior said.
The girls’ varsity race begins at 8 a.m. and the boys varsity starts at 8:30 a.m., following with the girls’ and boys’ junior varsity races starting at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively.
