Troubled waters
Carefully pouring water into a test tube, sophomore Malik Richardson tests the turbidity, or clarity, of the water in his “eco-column” during his AP Environmental Science class. “It was nasty,” Richardson said. “Our fish think they’re very productive in what they do, so they poop a lot.” The students tested the water’s pH, oxygen, and nitrate levels as well as others to check the water quality.
