Rescue recruitment
After lunch, senior Natalie Brown poses with Ocean Rescue Lifeguards recruiter Justin McVicker. “To be able to take on the face of Brevard County, you have to be trained really well,” McVicker said after describing the evaluation and training procedure for new lifeguards. Candidates must, among other things, be able to swim 550 yards in ten minutes, run a mile in ten minutes or less, and pass a strength test involving push-ups. Tryouts will be 7 a.m. March 22 at Rockledge High School.

"We've had no issues, no snafus. Everything's been running smoothly, and we've been getting kids to class on time.”](https://westshoreroar.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/IMG_9979-1200x800.jpg)
