Boom clap
Listening intently, junior Melissa Huberman patiently waits as junior Mohammad Ahmed adjusts the frequency until she hears sounds through the red boomwhacker. The goal of this AP Physics lab called “Boomwhackers” was to find the resonant frequency of each of the different colored tubes they were given. “The lab gave me a headache because all of the frequencies were in a super-high range and the tube was right next to my ear,” senior Zuri Lawrence said. Students discovered that every object in the world has a resonant frequencies and that’s why the Boomwhacker tubes make noise.
