Current and incoming students attended the school-wide Spring Fling to celebrate the school’s fourth National Blue Ribbon Award on March 13. Club members organized booths with games, food and prizes, and other activities included an air guitar contest, petting zoo and dunk tank. Over 800 students and 100 parent volunteers attended the event, organized by the Student Government Association and the Parent Teacher Association.

Air Guitar Contest
Senior Athan Zaiden strums an imaginary guitar while getting close to the judges, from whom he received a score of 29/30.
Dunk Tank
Science teacher Jeffrey Kelly gets dunked by a student. “It was a pretty fun experience,” Kelly said. “I was so scared I wasn’t going to be dunked and stay completely dry when I was getting so hot. I was hoping someone would have sympathy and finally be able to dunk me. I’m glad I was able to get in [the water] after heckling these kids because they definitely needed it.”
Arts and Crafts
Juniors Hannah Jones (left) and Jaelyn Lettsome draw on students' arms. “I’ve been making tattoos the whole time and we’ve had a good amount of people come by,” Lettsome said. “The officers set this up so we could use our art skills and share them with the school.”
Obstacle Course
Junior Christian Thein (right) jumps to make it to the end of the obstacle course. “It felt great getting out in the open,” junior Andrew Fedyanin said. “[I] didn’t make it over the wall, but I succeeded in heart. I succeeded in spirit. And that’s what counts.”
Petting Zoo
Junior Peyton Sheehan pets a mule at the petting zoo. “[My friend] Peyton and I sprinted ahead so we would be the first people to get into the petting zoo,” junior Nikhil Patel said. “They told us not to run but we just had to get to the animals. I loved holding the fluffy chicken, it was my favorite part. Peyton got to dress up the mule which was also really cool. They should bring the petting zoo back every semester, scratch that, every quarter.”
