Junior Class candidacy packets available

Junior Class officer candidacy packets can be picked up in Sophomore Class sponsor Gabrielle Powers’s Room in 15-105 or printed off the Sophomore Class page on Edline. All packets must be turned into her by Wednesday.

“Students need an overall GPA of 3.0 and they need to have an administrator sign off approve that they are a good candidate and a teacher approval, a parent approval, and signatures from students verifying that the student is a good representative of any position,” Powers said.

The office positions are: president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, historian, communications officer and School Advisory Council representative.

“The School Advisory Council member represents the Junior Class at meetings with administrators, teacher representatives, parents and the other representatives of grades 9-12,” Powers said.

Sophomore Ian Kennedy is running for class president.

“It would be a really cool opportunity and also a fun, yet professional way to show leadership. I know that it’s a big-time commitment, but I think it would be an awesome experience,” Kennedy said. “I also want to raise a lot of money and give the Senior Class the best Prom possible.”

Campaigning starts the one-week campaign window opens April 20. All posters must be approved by Athletics Director Tony Riopelle by April 17. Elections will be held during homeroom on April 27 and results will be announced on or before April 29. Additional requirements or rules are listed in the candidate packet.
