Moviegoers anticipate 2019 releases

Sequels, reboots, franchises, and original movies are set to release in 2019, and the movie world is gearing up for a year saturated with new films. Several new Marvel movies are set to release, along with the final installment of the newest “Star Wars” trilogy. From Disney movies to new installments in the horror theme, this year is something to look forward to for all different kinds of moviegoers.

This year started with the box office and critical success, “The Lego Movie: The Second Part,” and it set the bar high for other movies coming out this year.

“‘The Lego Movie 2’ brought me back to my childhood when I used to play with legos,” junior Jake Repperger said. “My favorite character is Unikitty because I love unicorns, and I love kitties, and Unikitty is so cute I just want to play with her. Also, I love seeing Batman do the floss dance that is so funny I totally LOL’d out loud.”

On the subject of childhood naivety, other family films coming out this year include: “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,” “Dumbo,” “The Lion King,” “Frozen 2” and “Toy Story 4.”

“I’m really looking forward to the release of ‘Toy Story 4,’” junior Grace Novak said. “My inner childhood self is super-excited for it.”

Senior Ali Theophelis awaits a November arrival from Disney.

“‘Frozen 2’ looks cute and I can’t wait to take my little cousin to go see it,” she said.

Junior Zane Sanders appears more excited to go see a mainstream blockbuster action flick.

“I am so totally mega pumped to go see ‘Avengers Endgame,’” he said. “‘Infinity War’ left the entire Marvel fan base waiting to see what would happen, and our questions are finally going be answered in this sequel.”
