“What do you truly desire?” Season 4 of “Lucifer” ends with the title character, played by Tom Ellis, returning to his reign in hell forever and leaving at the arms of his lover Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), and her colleagues Dan (Kevin Alejandro) and Ella (Aimee Garcia) who work with Chloe and Lucifer at the Los Angeles Police Department. Bitter demon bartender Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), whose feelings have only worsened toward Lucifer for leaving her behind and withholding secrets about her mother, begins to question the status of their relationship.

When Lucifer returns to earth, thousands of years have passed in only a two-month span of time. A recently deceased soul mentions a connection he had with Chloe who was investigating his case and Lucifer can’t resist trying to help from hell. Lucifer can only do so much from there, so he is forced to sit and watch the detective work the case from above. But Lucifer isn’t the only one watching as his twin brother (also played by Tom Ellis) ascends from heaven to not only wreak havoc on Lucifer’s life but to take it for himself. This leads to an epic brawl between brothers and friends who fight for their very existence.

The worst has yet to come with betrayal from a friend and the appearance of an unexpected guest leaves Lucifans anxiously waiting for the conclusion of a two-parter to open Season 5 in January. Lucifer Season 5 should be a must-watch for those ready to experience hell on earth and Lucifer’s dad’s mysterious plans. It is definitely a sin to leave on a cliffhanger like that.
