Student government elections
High School Student Government Association held elections on Monday, April 28th. The winners are President Erin Sheridan, Vice President Michelle Maldonado, Secretary Alicia Ortiz, Treasurer Yasemen Turkman, Historian Megan Ward, and Communications Officer Hannah Montgomery.
“I was not nervous at all because no one ran against us,” junior Erin Sheridan said. “I am really happy that I get to take after my sister next year and run SGA.”
The newly elected officers are in charge of homecoming in this Fall. Many people have faith in the officers because all of them have been in SGA for a number of years. SGA is also in charge of multiple scholarships and the pep rallies at the school.
“We are going to have a meeting soon to discuss the theme and money situation for homecoming,” junior Michelle Maldonado said, “We have enough money for homecoming, so we will only do a couple of fundraisers before the big event.”
