The varsity girls’ soccer team lost its district semifinal game to Holy Trinity 4–1 on Jan. 26. The Lady Wildcats ended the season with eight victories and seven defeats.
“It really sucked,” freshman Zoey DiOrio said. “I really hoped we were gonna get far, and it wasn’t a good end for us.”
Eighth-grader Tana B. scored off of a free kick.
“It was just outside of the box,” she said. “I’m really proud of my placement with the ball to go just above the goalie.”
It was the last high school game for seniors London Burke, Kiera Runske, Lauren Batache, Isabella Peterson and Alexis Clark.
“Even though we lost, it was a good game, and we tried our hardest,” Clark said. “I just can’t believe it’s over.”
