The varsity girls’ soccer team lost 1–0 to Merritt Island on Oct. 30 for their first game of the season away at Merritt Island. The team’s next game is Nov. 9th at Rockledge.
“Being this was a first game after only having three practices, everyone can improve in some area or another,” girls’ varsity soccer coach Jenny Pazderak said.
According to Pazderak, the players are still getting used to each other and finding out where some people fit best.
“We are doing a lot of small, sided drills to improve our movement on and off the ball,” Pazderak said.
Sophomore and varsity soccer player Sela Horgan said the team needs to work on crucial skills.
“I think some problems is we should have taken more shots instead of waiting with the ball,” Horgan said. “We lost a lot of balls to the defenders from bad touches.”
