Varsity boys’ soccer Senior Night to take place Jan. 19

As the varsity boys’ soccer season comes to a close, five seniors end their school soccer career. Rushil Shah, Massimo Sullivan, Dawson Jenkins, Jack Markos and Aaron Murphy will be walking on Senior Night on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m against Holy Trinity.

“The one thing I will miss the most are the team dinners we have before every home game,” Jenkins said. “They are just so sincere and energetic, and [I] have such a wonderful time with the team.”

Shah said that if he were to start his journey over, he would find his position earlier.

“I used to play midfield, and I don’t think that was my favorite,” he said.

Jenkins said playing soccer was a big part of his life.

“I don’t plan on playing in college,” Jenkins said. “However, I do plan on playing more recreational with other people but not for college.”

Due to the seniors leaving, the younger kids will have to step up, according to Head Coach Austin Downie.

“Their leadership is one thing I’m going to miss the most,” Downie said. “I came in as a JV coach, and I have known them for years. They brought leadership and developed our team into what it is today.”
