Tigers tame Wildcats 76-37

The boy’s varsity basketball team fell to the Cocoa Tigers 76-37 Thursday night, dropping to a 2-7 regular-season record. The Cats fell behind 21-6 in the first quarter before working their way back into the game.

Junior guard Ben Mechachonis rallied the team with 13 points and rained 9 points from outside the arc.

“We brought a lot of good energy and we played for each other really well,” Mechachonis said.

Mechachonis blames the Cats’ loss on the lack of effort throughout the entire game.

“We need to work on playing more consistently for the whole game as well as having more consistent plays from some of our better players,” he said.

The boys hope to improve their record in their next game at John Carroll on Friday at 7 p.m.
