The girls’ soccer team season is planning to hold tryouts Oct. 17, Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 to prepare for the season.

“This season is going to be a little bit of a rebuilding year,” girls’ varsity soccer head coach Jenny Pazderak said. “We lost eleven seniors last year. However, with the younger players stepping up, I feel we will have a great season.”

That is not the only loss the girls’ soccer team will endure.

“This season, we will have a new assistant varsity coach as well as a new JV coach,” Pazderak said. “Both of these additions are former West Shore alumni.” 

Sophomore Sela Horgan, a member of the girls’ soccer team, said she thinks that these changes could negatively affect the team.

“I’m expecting this year to still be good, just not as great as the last,” Horgan said. “On JV, the season was undefeated, but varsity lost 11 really strong players.” 

Despite these losses, the girls’ soccer team still continues to plan to work hard, according to Pazderak.

“We are going to train hard, work together as a team, watch game film and be prepared for a great season,” Pazderak said.
