The competition cheer team is officially starting its second year next week. The competition cheer tryouts will be held Oct 18th.
“This year, we are more prepared in terms of what to expect and what it takes to win,” coach Kaitlyn Hoskins said. “We are hoping to win our region.”
The cheerleaders are also preparing for competition by working on their performance skills at practice.
“We have had a lot of practice recently,” junior Audrey Sellenrick said. “We are trying to do as many full outs as we can to really practice our endurance and training those skills for a routine.”
The competition cheer team is also hoping to make some improvements.
“[We’re aiming for] more difficulty in our stunts and higher execution scores,” Hoskins said.
