Boys’ tennis eyes new recruits

Interest in boys’ tennis seems to have increased, if the 15 boys who attended a recent informational meeting are any indication.

Last year, only eight boys tried out for tennis.

“It was different from previous years because everyone who came out made the team,” sophomore Nathan Foo said.

But sophomore Hunter Scott expects that to change.

“There seemed to be a lot more boys interested in tennis this year, which will hopefully make more competition and will improve the team,” he said.

The team lost only one player — Phi Duong — to graduation, but with more athletes trying out, the team could look much different this season.

“I’m excited to have new players because they are going to make everyone work harder to earn their spot on the team,” Foo said.
