With boys’ lacrosse coming to the end of a 2-10 season, sophomore Michael Carroll and freshman Collin Munro scored the most points.
“The season was overall OK,” Munro said. “I think we did better than expected since most of our seniors graduated from our team. With our new roster, we definitely improved since the start of the season in many ways, but I still think we could have improved in some aspects. We can start by improving as a team for next season and get better overall.”
The season came to an end with a 19-5 loss to Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on April 11.
“I think everyone needed to improve because we had teamwork but weren’t the best at coordinating ourselves,” freshman Treven Lynes said. “It was definitely a fun season, and I hope to get better at passing, catching and faceoffs. Even though the season ended, during the summer as a team we will train to get better.”
Carroll and Munro scored a total of 52 points along with a total of 7 assists.
“I don’t think there was a star player, but we had a couple people step up and be able to handle starting,” Carroll said. “I want to improve my dodging and playmaking skills. During the summer, to improve our team’s ability with training, we will have teams come over to help us prepare for the next year in the offseason.”
Many of the players are preparing for the next season by conditioning and training with other teams during the offseason.
“Honestly, the season did not go our way, but as a new team, I think we had a lot of fun on the field,” Munro said. “Through all the wins and losses, our ability to work together and have fun definitely got us through that season. I hope our team has the same attitude and determination for next season.”
