Boys’ lacrosse prepares for the upcoming season

With the boys’ lacrosse season starting up again, sophomore Michael Carroll said he looks forward to taking to the field.

“I’m so thrilled for upcoming season,” Carroll said. “I can’t wait to play with my teammates and help everybody improve. I really wanna see [freshman] Harper Millband. He’s an excellent goalie, and I can’t wait to see him improve over the 2024 season.”

According to Carroll, many of the players are inexperienced.

“We were really good in last year’s season, but we lost a lot of seniors, so we had to recruit a lot of new players that we have never played with before,” Carroll said. “It took some time to get used to, but everybody seems to be picking it up quickly,” Carroll said.

The boys’ lacrosse team’s previous season ended with a score of 14 victories and three defeats.

“Last year, I think we had one of our best teams, and we did great,” freshman Collin Munro said. “I think that we will win a couple games but lose the majority, but it is just a learning process.  I think we are not quite ready yet. There is still some work to do, but I think Michael Carroll will shine and become a great player, playing all games as well as myself.”

The Wildcats play their first game of the season against Rockledge High School on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.

“I believe that we are going to use this season as a season to just improve but I’m still confident we can win some games,” freshman Treven Lynes said.
