Project Graduation plans car wash

There are many perks of being a senior, one of them being Project Graduation. The Project Graduation committee has been holding car washes to help fund money for this seniors-only event and they are in need of volunteers. There will be a car wash on March 1 at Doubles Beachside on 1896 South Patrick Dr. in Indian Harbor Beach, Fl.

Project Graduation is a program in the U.S. offered at many high schools that was set up to encourage fun activities after graduation instead of alcohol/drug-related activities. In the past, this event has been held at the Pro-Health Center in Melbourne, though they were unable to have it there this year.

This year, Project Graduation will be held at Andretti’s Thrill Park. Activities include go-carting, arcade games, miniature golf, laser tag, bowling a cash cube, and food and drinks.

“I’m really excited because this should be an exceedingly fun venue,” senior Keiran Sheridan said.

Sheridan said it is an opportunity for seniors to bond and celebrate graduation as a class.

“It’s a great time to hang out with everyone in a safe and fun environment,” Sheridan said.

The committee is hoping to raise $12,000 to $15,000 for Project Graduation. Although they do fundraisers, they also rely heavily on donations. If you are interested in volunteering, e-mail [email protected]. Project Graduation will be taking place on May 23.
