Power lifter breaks records over summer
Junior Jay Cruz had a busy summer, but not in the relaxing way one might expect. Instead, Cruz spent his time breaking multiple power lifting records. He participated in four tournaments during the break. He succeeded in breaking the “dead-lift” record during his warm up lift.
Cruz prepares for these tournaments both physically and mentally.
“Power lifting requires you to rise above the challenge,” Cruz said.
Cruz is preparing for future tournaments by lifting on his own and with friends.
“I enjoy lifting with friends because it not only helps me get stronger but them as well,” Cruz said.
