Lit magazine seeks submissions

Alter Ego, West Shore’s literary magazine, is currently accepting literature and art submissions. Literary submissions can include realistic fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, essays, fantasy, poetry and memoirs; the art submissions can be paintings, photographs, sculptures and graphic designs.

Sponsor and English teacher Lisa Rehm said the magazine is a wonderful mix of work, and sending in a submission can be beneficial to students.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase their writing or art,” Rehm said. “It’s a chance to share it with the West Shore community.”

Rehm said editors are expecting to receive a variety of creative writing as well as nonfiction pieces.

“We want to avoid research papers,” Rehm said. “[But] if it has a journalistic edge to it, it will probably work well with the magazine.”

The editorial board will choose the submissions and the magazine will be available for purchase at the end of the year.

Students can send their submissions in by sending it to [email protected] by March 20. If you have questions or would like to purchase last year’s edition for $15, see Rehm in Portable 6.
