Lady ’Cats fall to Florida Air 66-42
Senior Lydia Kline led the team with 11 points followed by sophomore Mary Billhartz and Rebecca Castillo who tallied 8 points apiece, but the girls’ basketball team fell to Florida Air Academy 66-42 Friday.
Senior Kaitlin Inganna was expecting a tough matchup going into the game.
“I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. I had talked to Lydia [Kline] and was honestly intimidated when we walked through the doors,” Inganna said. “After playing, I realized it wasn’t that bad. The first half I thought we did good. We kept the game close, but in the second half we let up a little and the score reflected that.”
Billhartz said she thought the Lady Wildcats played well.
“Even though FAA is a very talented group of girls, we put up a good fight,” Billhartz said. “During the beginning, the score remained very close which is very impressive considering the school we were playing. Despite the fact that we fell behind in the end and couldn’t get the win, I think our team played very strongly.”
The Lady Wildcats’ next game Friday at Space Coast Junior/Senior High School in Cocoa.
