Lady ’Cats basketball falls to Tigers

The Lady Wildcats varsity basketball team fell to the Cocoa Tigers 51-30 in front of their home crowd on the front end of back-to-back games on Nov. 24.

Sophomore guard Mary Billhartz said she was frustrated with the loss.

“As a whole I feel we all had a bad game and weren’t playing well together,” she said. “We weren’t running our offense and none of our shots were falling.”

The Lady Wildcats were down 7 after the first quarter but were outscored 16-5 in the second quarter, which dug them into an 18-point deficit they were unable to overcome.

“They were making all of their shots and were playing really well,” Billhartz said.

The loss leaves the Lady Wildcats at an even 3-3. They will next play at Merritt Island against the Mustangs on Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
