Girls’ swim team finishes second at districts

The girls took home second place for the sixth consecutive year, and the boys got fourth place as the swim team competed at districts Saturday at North County Aquatic Center in Sebastian.

“I’m really proud of our girls and our guys,” Coach Donald Gornto said ” I would’ve been happy if we hadn’t won anything because we had great times from so many of our swimmers. I’m really happy to see that the hard work they put in at practice paid off at districts. All of our relays dropped significant amounts of time.”

Thirty-six swimmers swam for West Shore at districts.

“I was nervous during the meet because I wanted to qualify for regionals,” freshman Jake Repperenger said. “After my swim, I felt very excited to see my time and that I had gotten a personal best.”

Regionals will be held at Orlando’s Lake Highland Prep on Saturday.
