Varsity girls’ soccer team defeated Cocoa 14-0 at home in one half on Senior Night on Wednesday. Six out of seven of the seniors scored at least one goal in the game.

“Our Senior Night went really well,” striker Madison Ainbinder said. “We were all super-happy that it was able to happen after having to reschedule it once already.”

Senior Kira Anzalone said she agreed with Ainbinder’s assessment.

“My Senior Night was amazing,” Anzalone said. ” Everyone made me feel so special. … [The team] absolutely spoiled me.”

Ainbinder said it was a night to remember.

“It was a really special night to get to share with everyone,” Ainbinder said. ” I’ve looked forward to my Senior Night since I was a freshman on the team.”

Anzalone said she was happy to help add another goal to the scoreboard.

“I had a good amount of assists, but with the help of my team I finally got to put one in the back of the net myself,” Anzalone said.

Anzalone also said she is ready to take on the rest of her season.

“All my teammates are so amazing in so many ways,” Anzalone said. ” I’m so happy to be playing with them this year and excited to see what else we can accomplish as a team.”

Ainbinder said it was a good time, but a quick one.

“It’s crazy it’s already over, but I’m excited for the rest of the season,” Ainbinder said.
