Girls’ lacrosse season draws near

The girls’ lacrosse team, which has been conditioning on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, officially begins practices Jan. 29. When the practices begin, players are expected to have their West Shore Athletic packet completed, U.S. Lacrosse membership, and all required gear, including  headgear, cleats and stick.

“Compared to last year, the team has a better attitude and are ready to have a great season,” sophomore Isabel Richards said. “ I think everyone on the team is excited and ready to play. Win or lose, we can only get better.”

Coach Jenny Pazderak, who is returning for her second year, will be joined by recently added Assistant Coach Taylor Bartusek, who is a West Shore alumna.

“This team gets along really well,” sophomore Marlee Krause said. “The team has practiced and conditioned real hard for this season, and we are all very excited for the season.”

The team currently has 11 games scheduled beginning on Feb. 22 against Melbourne High at 5:30 p.m. Even if you did not attend conditioning, you can still join the team as long as you attend the first practice and register with the coaches.
