Girls’ golf gears up for districts

The girls’ golf team will send its top five golfers to districts Oct. 10 at Crane Creek golf course with hopes of making regionals. The top three teams in the district will advance to regionals and the top three individual golfers also will advance.

“As long as I do better than I do in a normal match, which is 68 for nine holes, I’ll be happy,” freshman Campbell Crews said.

Crews’ sister, Bekah, will also be competing in districts.

“I know I’m not going to move on to regionals,” she said. “So my main goal is to beat my sister.”

Until Oct. 10, the girls will continue training at Viera East golf course every day after school.
