Freshman looks forward to Europe trip

She walked down the city street, watching the red double-decker buses race by, fascinated by the beautiful colors of stings of light hanging across the street, then her table partner tapped her on the shoulder and woke her out of her daydream, and she realized she was in fifth period with 11 days left of school until her dream of visiting London became reality.

Freshman Marissa Stazzone is going on a trip around the United Kingdom from June 4 to June 13. The tour group, EF Tours, will be taking the group of students to numerous famous and educational places, including London and Stonehenge.

Stazzone has never before been out of the country.

“I mean, what a great way to go on my first out of country trip with a bunch of tour guides that know the best places to tour, the best places to eat, and the best hotels to stay at,” Stazzone said. “I know I will be getting the best experience.”

The group boasts a total of 32 students who all attend West Shore.

“I know a few [students] going, but I know I will become friends with the other [students] because we will be spending a lot of time together,” she said.

Stazzone said she is excited for all the parts of the trip, but mainly visiting London.

“There’s so many things to do in the city and so many things to see,” she said. “I’m so excited to watch the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. I’ve heard that is really cool.”
