FHS holds awards ceremony
The French Honor Society held an award ceremony in the media center to recognize student’s achievements who participate in the French program. To be a member in the honor society, the students must obtain an A average in French and pay a due of $10 for new members and $5 for returning students in the beginning of the year.
French teacher Jennifer Walker said the banquet was successful and fun for the students.
“The turnout was fantastic,” Walker said. “I would say that almost everyone in the society was there. We had food and a great cake. It was a really fun time to see the newer students receive their awards.”
President of French Honor Society Allison Eaton handed out awards.
“I thought that the whole ceremony went well,” Eaton said. “I got to give the awards to all the younger students and it was cool to see how excited and proud they were. At the end, I gave a small speech just encouraging them to continue their studies in French and thanking Mrs. Walker for everything she’s done for me and being an amazing teacher and role model.”
The banquet concluded with socializing and food with the members.
