The cross-country team will be competing regionals in Stuart, Fla., Saturday. Freshman Sam Oliver and sophomore Jonelle Plahuta are among the many competing and both have goals they are hoping to accomplish.

“There’s a lot of difficult competition, but I think we still have pretty good chances,” Plahuta said. “I’m hoping we’re able to make it all the way to states.”

Last weekend, Plahuta competed in her fourth at District meet. She along with a handful of her other teammates have high hopes for Saturday’s race. Many are anticipating to accomplish personal records and are seemingly confident going into the race.

“I feel that we are going to go to regionals,” Oliver said “I would like to place.”
