Chorus concert set for Thursday
The winter chorus concert will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Eau Gallie High School’s auditorium.
The concert will feature all chorus classes, each performing several winter and Christmas-themed pieces learned in class.
“Our mixed chorus is doing ‘Nutcracker Jingles,’ a medley of the traditional jingle bells songs and the classical pieces of the Nutcracker,” junior soprano Adrianna Green said. “I think the audience will be surprised after we sing ‘Jingle Bells’ and transition to the Nutcracker with ‘Jingle Bells’ lyrics.”
Some pieces include dancing in addition to the singing.
“[Mixed chorus] also has some amusing choreography worked in that will hopefully put a smile on everyone’s faces,” Green said.
As a tradition at every concert, choir director Amy Davis selects an African piece that all classes sing together.
“It’s a good thing because it’s never really like any of the other pieces we do, so it changes up our sound while we all come together to sing,” junior soprano Emory East said.
There is only one showing, but the concert is free of charge and anybody can attend.
