Cheer team enlists Moe’s in quest for uniforms

The junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders are having a fund-raiser to support the JV team to get new uniforms for next year’s season. The fund-raiser will be today at Moe’s in the mall from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. When customers say that they’re with West Shore, 50 percent of proceeds will go toward the JV team.

“We’re trying to raise $500 for the team,” junior Lexi Potter said. “Varsity got new uniforms this year; they’re gray. So, we’re hoping to buy the same ones for JV. Varsity receives a short outfit every year or two. But, JV last got a short outfit two years ago. However, JV and varsity both have uniforms that are 10 years old and in good condition which is our straight uniform. We usually get them in different designs, patterns, and colors,” Potter said.

The short outfit is the sublimated tank tops and running shorts. The straight uniform is the game uniform that’s blue and has a gray stripe on the side.
