Cheer for Charity brings in nearly $2,000

The cheerleadering team played host to the eighth annual Cheer for Charity event Saturday,  raising nearly $2,000 for the Brevard Cancer Care Foundation.

“We had a lot of kids come this year, about 70 kids,” senior Amanda Moscrip said. “It’s always fun to raise money for such a great cause.”

During the event, members of the team teach children how to cheer.

“We do this every year, and we host a camp for kids,” senior Maddie Leary said. “We teach them dances, cheers and stunts. We always have a good turnout, and it’s always a lot of fun for the campers and the cheerleaders.”
