Chamber orchestra raises $200

Chamber orchestra recently held a fund-raiser at Long Dogger’s on Post Road to raise money for upcoming festivals and events. Long Dogger’s gave 10 percent of all its proceeds in that time and the orchestra raised $200.

“Although we were expecting more, I believe some sporting events prevented some students and parents from attending,” senior Darshan Ghayal said.

This fund-raiser fell on the same night as the boys’ soccer District 2-A regional semifinal game against the Edgewood Indians.

“It was a bit disappointing to find out we didn’t raise as much as we hoped,” Ghayal said.

Last year the group raised around $500.

“I don’t have a good reason [why there was a lack of turnout],” junior Sam Niemeier said. “Was it because it was a school night? Should they have publicized more?”

The orchestra will use this money for an upcoming festival at Disney.
