Chamber Orchestra heads to nationals

Chamber Orchestra members will be attending the National Orchestra Festival in Tampa.

Viola player Zack Zaroogian said he is proud they made it into the conference which begins Friday.

“We are the only orchestra from Florida that is preforming this year,” the sophomore said.

The members had to practice to prepare an audition tape.

“We had to submit an audition of our orchestra playing,” sophomore Andrew Leonard said. “And were invited to participate”

Sophomore Andrew Leonard said he’s looking forward to receiving feedback on his performance which takes place Saturday.

“At the conference the orchestra performs for nationally recognized string clinicians, receives a rating and tips,” Leonard said.  “Students are also allowed to participate in several conferences and music education classes there at the Tampa Convention Center.”

Chamber Orchestra members will out of school Friday to attend the festival.
