Band performers end last year’s winter concert successfully

Band students are preparing their pieces for their fall concert on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. All band groups and jazz band will be performing.

Some of this music they’ve been working on since day one,” band director Justin Snively said. “Others, like the beginners, have gotten this music recently in the last couple of weeks once they got to the level and they learned all their notes that they needed and all the rhythms that they needed for the music. So it’s going to be a really fun concert. “

This is the first band concert for this school year.

“It’s going to be our starting point and hopefully when the parents and the other teachers and the audience members come back for our winter concert, they hear a huge improvement, and then when they come back to our spring concert, they hear a huge improvement, so this is going to be our starting point,” Snively said.

Many band students are looking forward to the concert.

“It’s pretty exciting,” eighth-grader and percussionist Deklan Boyles said. “I know we’ve been working really hard on all our pieces. It’s gonna be pretty neat to finally put them all together and showcase them in front of our parents.”
