Band closes out year with Spring Concert

The school band recently held its annual Spring Concert. During the show, Beginning Band, Advanced Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band all performed several pieces.

“I thought all of the bands performed their best, including myself,” said Colton Serven, a sophomore trumpet player in Symphonic Band. “Although the Symphonic Band sounded somewhat mush in the middle of a few pieces, some of the pieces were last-minute because just a few weeks before there was MPA.

The concert started at 6:30 p.m. and finished around 8 p.m. This time the order was switched, instead of Jazz Band performing first, it performed at the end of the concert.

“I enjoyed that the band order was changed to ascending order this year. It was able to show the full development of the bands over the course of the concert,” said Duncan Schwarze, a sophomore clarinet player in Symphonic Band. “I also thought that since Jazz Band went last this time. The concert seemed to go by much quicker, leaving me with extra time to do what I want.”
