2013 Global Connections Art and Essay Contest deadline extended
Due to high demand and continuous requests, the Nile Foundation and Atlantic Institute have extended the 2013-2014 Global Connections Art and Essay Contest submission deadline to Jan. 17.
Students participate by creating artistic or literary works, related to the competition’s theme: “Connecting Cultures in the Digital Age: How does social media change the future of our world?”
Language arts teacher Adrienne Gent said she encourages participation in these writing contests.
“Opportunities like this contest are great,” Gent daid. “I think classes like creative writing are great because they give students time to write for essay contests.”
Graphic design teacher James Finch said he wants his students to participate in contests.
“I encourage my students to enter into art contests and showcase their work to others,” said Finch.
