The end of the cross-country season is in sight as the team heads to the District meet at Cocoa High School on Saturday.

“It’s depressing that the season seems so short. Too bad it can’t be longer,” JV runner Kyle Eseltine said.

Coach Jason Whitworth said he’s  happy with the team’s accomplishments so far.

“I’m exited that the JV boys and girls have a chance to prove themselves,” he said. “It’s good to see the progress.”

JV boys and girls will be running after the varsity teams in an open race in which both teams will run together.

As a tradition before the race, the team has a pasta dinner and any boy who wants to shave his head, can.

“The party brings us closer together before districts,” Eseltine said. “It really counts”
