The Cultural Club will participate in the Ascension Catholic Church Fall Festival by volunteering at the Philippine BBQ booth, chaired by Ralph and Joy Turingan. The festival will be held Nov. 11-13 at Ascension Catholic School and will raise money for tuition assistance at the school. Features of the event include foreign food, inflatable rides, entertainment and a grand raffle that gives away $10,000 in prizes.

Freshman Megan Turingan is excited for the event and says her parents run the booth because they think it is a fun activity.

“My parents’ booth is really popular because people think the barbeque is really good,” she said. “Filipino food is good because it’s not like any other type of food.”

Cultural club members will help prepare and sell food at the event, and will receive volunteer hours for their efforts.
