Last Thursday, girls basketball lost 43-40 to Eau Gallie, with eighth-grade point guard Kaelani Luther dropping 20 points.
On Friday, boys basketball lost 57-50 to Palm Bay in the third-place game of the Cape Coast Conference (CCC) tournament’s South region. Also, boys soccer lost 3-0 away at Holy Trinity in a district rivalry match, putting their record at 5-10.
Action started back up on Tuesday with a boys basketball 62-40 loss away at Sebastian River. This puts their record at 6-9.
On Wednesday, girls basketball beat Melbourne Central Catholic 41-32 in a district game, with Luther scoring 21 points and junior center Emily Marshall recording 16 rebounds, 13 of which came off the offensive glass. The win raises their record to 3-9.
On the same night, girls soccer recorded their third straight mercy-rule outing, beating John Carroll Catholic 8-0 in the first round of their district playoffs. Their performance was aided by 3 goals scored by freshman midfielder Tana Burgreen. This puts their record at 7-3-6.
Tonight, girls basketball faces 3-9 Odyssey Charter School at home at 6 p.m. for their senior night. Also, girls soccer faces 6-3-3 Edgewood in the semi-final of their district playoffs at home at 7 p.m.
