Wildcat Wrap 1/16: Cape Coast Conference tournament comes to an end
Last week, boys soccer lost 3-0 to Viera in the South semi-finals of the Cape Coast Conference (CCC) tournament, and girls basketball lost 72-15 to Viera in the first round of the CCC tournament, both on Jan 9.
Boys basketball won 58-52 over Satellite in the first round of the CCC tournament to send them into the South semi-finals, where they will face Melbourne for the second time this season. Also on Friday, girls soccer won 8-0 against Palm Bay, scoring 5 goals in the second half in the losers bracket of the CCC tournament.
Over the weekend, the competitive cheer team traveled to Deland High School for a competition where they placed second out of three teams, scoring the highest in the Game Day division in school history.
On Monday, boys soccer lost 4-2 to Satellite in their last CCC tournament game, with senior midfielder Athan Zaiden and center back Max Carl scoring the goals for the Wildcats. The loss lowered their record to 5-9 on the season.
On Tuesday, girls soccer won 8-0 over Eau Gallie in their last game of the CCC tournament, with junior striker Sela Horgan scoring two of their eight goals. This raised their record to 6-3-6 on the season. Also, girls basketball lost 50-16 in a game against Melbourne, with eighth grader Kaelani Luther scoring 11 of their 16 points.
Yesterday boys basketball lost 59-42 to Melbourune in the semi-final of the CCC tournament at Veira. This loss brings their record to 6-7.
Tonight, girls basketball faces 1-11 Eau Gallie in a CCC tournament game. To cap off the week, boys soccer plays against 12-0-1 Holy Trinity, and boys basketball will face 5-11 Palm Bay in the third-place game of the CCC tournament.
