Sponsored by Brevard's own Tyler Sirois, house bill 1 plans to ban social media accounts held by people under 16. Junior Carter Newlin said the bill is "stupid" because he said he thinks "they won't be able to enforce it like they're able to." If passed the bill would go into effect on July 1.
House bill 1 threatens social media access for youth
Forty-five freshmen were selected to go on a field trip to the Florida Institute of Technology last Tuesday to meet author and adventurer Erik Weihenmayer known for his most notable achievement: climbing Mount Everest while blind. “I think [Weihenmayer] conveyed the message quite well because he gave lots of personal stories and it has helped me sort of relate to him,” freshman Joe Matella said.
