The West Shore Purrfections.

Due to COVID-19, the Purrfections dance team hadn’t danced for a pep rally since 2019. That changed on Oct. 14 with the high-school fall sports pep rally held in the gym during seventh-period.

“I felt a little nervous about the pep rally,” varsity dancer Ava Renee, a freshman, said.

Only half of the dance team participated in the pep rally.

“It was a little frustrating that all of us couldn’t perform though, since half of our team consists of middle-schoolers,” freshman Alador Pearson said.

The middle-schoolers their own pep rally on Oct. 21 in which the dancers did not perform.

“To be honest, I was a little disappointed,” seventh-grader Lucie P. said. “But me and the other middle- schoolers weren’t in a good condition to dance because one of our members is out on a foot injury.”

Even though the middle-school dancers didn’t get to perform for the pep rally, they still have multiple upcoming events.

“We have many upcoming dances in November,” Lucie said. “I believe most are basketball games.”
