Lady ‘Cats Senior Night preview

After winning only three games this season the girls basketball team is getting ready to play it’s last season game Friday on senior night.

“I’m excited because we are playing Edgewood and they are our rivals and they aren’t good, also one of our former players is now their starting point guard so it’ll be fun to play her,” sophomore Taylor Smith said. “It is also kind of sad because we’ll be losing a couple key seniors and I’ve grown attached to them. ”

Sophomore Kayla Garoust is hoping that the girls will pull out a win during their senior night game even though this season has been less then ideal.

“It was a rough start to my first varsity season,” Garoust said. “We had trouble coming together as a team and I think that may be our biggest problem”.

Although the girls have yet to win a game this season, Garoust still views it as a positive experience.

“I wish our season could have gone better but we played well in some games,” she said.

Last year the Lady Wildcats record was 16-6.

“It was hard losing our seniors from last year, ” says Taylor Smith “Because they held the team together but I think we are working well together despite our record.”

Smith along with the rest of the team, is looking towards the future in a positive light.

“I’m hopeful next season will go better,” she said.
