Improving PSAT scores is one of Khan Academy’s strong suits. It is proven that studying for the PSAT using it has improved scores by as many as 100 points.

Junior Madhumita Subbiah visited the website before taking the PSAT on Oct. 12. The PSAT is taken in preparation for the SAT and is also used to see who qualifies for the National Merit scholarship. Khan Academy provides a website used to study or practice specific subjects. This program also provides students with methods and topics to study for the PSAT.

“I used this platform because I could focus on just weak points and study that,” she said. “I felt more confident, and I could recognize similar problems.”

Khan Academy also allows students to link their College Board account, so they can specifically focus on what they need to study for the PSAT. Sophomore Jodie Wiens said the site is easy to use.

“I didn’t have to do any extra work,” Wiens said. “I just connected it to college board and I had all of my schedules made for me and questions I could jump to straight away.”

Subbiah agrees.

“It definitely helped improve my score overall,” Subbiah said.

Not only does Khan Academy help students to be more ready, it also helps them feel more assured going in.

“I felt more confident,” Wiens said. “It really prepared me for the types of questions that would be on the PSAT.”
