Junior Class rolls out Texas Roadhouse fund-raiser
October 31, 2022
The Junior Class is partnering with Texas Roadhouse to sell a dozen frozen rolls, 6-ounce honey cinnamon butter, and e-gift cards Nov. 1-9. Items can be purchased digitally through a link or QR code and will be available for pickup Nov. 16-18 between 3 and 8 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse at 941 E. Eau Gallie Boulevard.
“We thought it’d line up really well with Thanksgiving, which would help with sales,” Junior Class President Rosalina Rodriguez said.
Rolls are $8, honey cinnamon butter is $2, and e-gift cards range from $10 up to $100.
“We’re shooting for around $2,000, and all the money would go towards prom,” Junior Class Treasurer Ethan Bergman said.
The Junior Class is encouraging students to sell rolls to others in order to raise more money.
“Our goal for the fund-raiser is five orders of rolls per student and three gift cards,” Rodriguez said. “I think that if everyone sold that amount it would be great, but more realistically, if everyone just sold one order, I would be pretty happy.”
The Junior Class will receive 50 percent of the proceeds from each dozen of rolls sold and 10 percent from each gift card.
“The money isn’t just for Prom, we are hoping to have a lot of extra money for senior year as well,” Rodriguez said. “That way, the officers don’t have to stress themselves during a busy senior year and will have plenty of funds.”
Some concerns have been raised regarding the potential interest of buying and selling rolls.
“I’m really glad that we’re doing as many fund-raisers for Pprom and juniors in general, but I feel like we keep choosing fund-raiser options that people don’t care much for,” junior Sofia Palermo said.
Regardless, Rodriguez is still encouraging everyone to buy rolls in order to not only support the Junior Class, but also to have rolls for Thanksgiving.
“The more [students] invest in the juniors and Class of 2024, the more we will invest back into them,” she said. “Not to mention just school spirit, it’s only a good thing to be a part of fund-raisers, and nothing bad could come out of supporting your fellow students.”
