Focus accessibility button causes frustration

Focus Brevard, the grading portal for Brevard Public Schools, has an aspect that has irritated many users. The accessibility button or widget is used to help better navigate the site. It appears on all students and teachers dashboards looks similar to a blue handicapped sticker.

Freshman Megan Miles said the button and how it interferes with her dashboard.

“It covers up my grades so I can’t see them for maybe two of my classes because of [the button],” Miles said. “They should move it to the left side of the dashboard. But even then I never use it for anything.”

Freshman Tristan McLaughlin shared similar complaints.

“I don’t like the accessibility button because it is always in my way,” McLaughlin said. “I try to move it but it doesn’t stay so when I try to look at all my grades it’s very difficult.”

McLaughlin refers to a option within the accessibility menu that allows its removal or relocation. However, most of the time this selection doesn’t save or operate correctly.

An overall consensus that students have reached is that the button isn’t necessary or should at least work properly.
