Ehmer’s two goals help shut out Satellite

Senior Bree Ehmer scored the night’s only goals to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 2-0 victory over Satellite on Wednesday.

“It felt good having a win after the past few games being a bit messy and it felt amazing knowing we kept our winning streak against them,” junior midfielder London Burke said. “Although it started shaky at the beginning of the game, we were able to piece together passes and get some good crosses.”

This game marked the return of senior goalkeeper Lauren Mannix from a foot injury.

“At first I was really nervous just because I had not played soccer in three months so I was really anxious to go in,” Mannix said. “Once I actually went on the field and heard all my teammates cheering me on, I was so happy and felt so relieved that my injury was finally done and over with and I could finally play again.”

Senior midfielder Abigail Watson said she was pleased with the outcome.

“The team played really good together and we just clicked on all cylinders in the 40 minutes from first water break to the second water break,” she said. “The midfield was passing and moving and letting the ball flow.”

The 3-2 Lady Wildcats next travel to Vero Beach tonight. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
